Q: Is this an online course?
A: No. To take part in the SMART BUSY program you need to physically attend the sessions (each session is 2.5 hours long) over 4 consecutive weeks on a Tuesday evening (6.30pm - 9pm). The course will start on the 4th of August 2015.
Q: Can I attend just a few sessions of the program?
A: Because of the way the program has been designed, it works best if you can commit to attend all sessions.
Q: What can I expect from the program?
A: The program will provide you with a range of practical skills to deal more effectively with the stresses and demands of modern life. In some weeks you will be asked to reflect on various aspects of your life. You will acquire strategies to reclaim a sense of control and become more mindful in a safe and supportive environment.
Q: Will there be homework?
A: Yes, there's homework! After each session you will be given some (fun!) activities to do before the next session. These will give you the opportunity to explore the ideas and strategies from each workshop in a practical way that fits into your life.
Q: Should I eat before I come to each session? Or will food and drink be provided?
A: A light supper will be provided but you may wish to have a more substantial meal before you attend each session.
Q: What do I need to bring to each session?
A: Please bring a notebook or some paper and a pen to each session.
Q: Is there anything else I need to do?
A: At the start and again at the end of the SMART BUSY program you will be asked to complete a short survey asking you to reflect on several areas of your life. Some of these questions may be seen as personal and private, and you can choose not to answer any questions on topics sensitive to you. However, answering these questions are an important part of the program. If you do not think you will have the time to participate in the homework activities or the survey, please consider that this program might not be for you.
